(i) Tally.ERP 9 – Silver
When a User has a Single Computer and want to adequate with Tally.ERP 9 for his operation, the Silver Edition of Tally what we have for our users. The ‘Silver Edition’ in this context means a single user tally for a computer system.
It comes with a price of INR 18,000 Rs. which provides a complete one year of free updates of product. After one year user can upgrade it with a price of INR 3,600 Rs.
Note. Tally License will continue to work even after expiration of Tally.NET, but user can’t get the new update and upcoming features.
This Editions key features & Capabilities are very high and it includes Tally.NET services like Remote Access. With this edition user can manage as many companies (business entities) and personal books of accounts as per need. Also with this user can create as many users for their company, and can provide each with the appropriate level of security. But all these require a Tally.ERP 9. As a Silver user, you can create one Tally.NET identity, which you can use to login to your own system from home or while on the move. Other users of Tally.ERP 9 can also grant access to you by authorizing this Tally.NET identity.
If you decide to buy a Silver edition, you can migrate to Gold anytime. And with Gold, as users increase, there is no need to come back to us for additional user licensing. You simply avoid the commercial, purchase & administrative complications of these changes.
(ii) Tally.ERP 9 – Gold Where more than one computer needs to have access to Tally.ERP 9, a Gold edition is what you need. Any number of users can simultaneously have read and write access. Note, that there can be some degradation of performance with a large number of users and we have found that the Gold edition is usable with a maximum of ten users. (Series B will deliver the Diamond & Platinum editions with support for hundreds & thousands of users).
It comes with a price of INR 54,000 Rs. which provides a complete one year of free updates of product. After one year user can upgrade it with a price of INR 10,800 Rs.

You can manage as many companies (business entities) and personal books of accounts as you need. You may also create as many users as you need, and provide each with the appropriate level of security.
As a Gold user, you can create ten Tally.NET identities, with which your mobile users can login to your system from home or while on the move. Other users of Tally.ERP 9 can also grant access to you by authorising these Tally.NET identities.
It is easy to migrate to Gold from Silver - contact your Tally Partner. Your license will get updated to Gold and you can now access Tally.ERP 9 from multiple systems without the need to make any other change!
(iii) Tally.ERP 9 – Auditor Available exclusively for practicing Chartered Accountants, this edition comes will all the advantages of the Gold edition and with several extras. It comes with a price of INR 10,800 Rs. which provides a complete one year of free updates of product. After one year user can upgrade it with a price of INR 5,400 Rs.

These extra features are not available to Silver & Gold users:
• Computer aided audit
• Automatic scan of every ledger & voucher. These get flagged as 'potentially incorrect' with an indication of what that error could be. Send your clients these exception reports & get their clarifications
• Scrutinise records as per type of audit or compliance you are undertaking (focused audit)
• Filter out transactions you want to physically audit (for random audit)
• Generate annexure for Section 44AB; Form 3CD Annexure Clause 16, Clause 17(h), Clause 21, Clause 24(a & b), Annexure II & Clause 27

• Example your client has given access permission to you for audit and other purposes. You wish to assign this company to an article clerk who has been assigned a separate Tally.NET identity. Now your client need not give additional permissions to your article clerk – you can make this assignment yourself – making it easy to manage different articles as well as manage hires and exits easily
• If you actually visit the clients location and log in with your identity - all Auditors' Edition features will be automatically available at this location as well - meaning that Remote Access is not always needed
• You can login to your system or a clients system from an educational version of Tally.ERP 9 (from anywhere) or even from a regular Silver or Gold edition - you will get access to all Auditors' Edition features
(iv) Tally.ERP 9 – Rental Tally.ERP 9 is now available in a rental model. Simply put, you can now pay per quarter or even per month of use. Costing just 10% per quarter (around 3% per month), we believe ALL your needs have been addressed: • If you are presently operating in an environment where Capital Expenses are limited, the rental model allows you to move over to an Operating Expenses mode
• There is sometimes the need for an additional license for short term use:

• Monthly rental – INR 600

b. Tally Shoper 9
When you have more than one store and one or more warehouses, central management may be required for your business. Shoper 9 HO fulfills these requirements.
What can you manage centrally? When the same SKU (stock keeping unit/item code) and categories are used uniformly, you can define these at the HO and have them flow to the POS locations. Other masters are also supported, including price lists, promotions, discounts, customer & supplier lists and taxes.
Keeping in mind that connectivity can never be 100%, the data architecture is de-centralised. This means that each store has its own local database which is replicated at the HO. One additional advantage of having two copies of the database: in case of a disaster you do not lose your data!
Data transfer between POS & HO is via the Internet. Several methods are supported depending on the local connectivity conditions – each store can opt for one that suits it best. This data synchronisation can be scheduled at regular intervals, and controlled by the HO.
All decision support is available centrally at the HO. It lets you access over 100 reports taken across stores & groups of stores (grouped any way you want).
When you need to add another store, Shoper 9 HO supports rapid deployment. You can bring up a store to full operation in about half a day. Specific store settings and configurations can be copied into a template and deployed at the new store. All master information can be automatically pulled in from the HO.
Three product Editions will meet all your requirements.
• Shoper 9 Silver The Shoper 9 Silver Edition allows you to install and run Shoper 9 POS. If you run a retail store, you can use it as a POS component, or else as a Distributor component if you function as a Distributor. The Silver Edition runs on a single machine. It comes with a price of INR 18,000 with one year free update. And renewal price INR 3,600.
• Shoper 9 Gold The Shoper 9 Gold Edition allows you to install and run Shoper 9 POS on an unlimited number of terminals in a LAN (but within the same sub-network). You can use it as a POS component or Distributor configuration on multiple terminals in a sub-network. It comes with a price of INR 54,000 with one year free update. And renewal price INR 10,800.
• Shoper 9 Diamond The Shoper 9 Diamond Edition allows you to install and run Shoper 9 POS as well as Shoper 9 HO on as many computers in a LAN (but within the same sub-network). You can use it as a HO or POS component in as many terminals of the sub-network. It comes with a price of INR 3,60,000 with one year free update. And renewal price INR 72,000. c. Tally Server 9 Tally.Server 9 is a ‘Series A’ Enterprise Class product for medium and large size businesses whose pace of growth requires for it to invest in infrastructure that will help them improve their business efficiencies. Tally.Server 9 helps enhance the power and control of Tally.ERP 9 Gold users by converting the existing ‘peer-to-peer’ kind of data access to ‘server based’ data management.
The Tally.Server 9 technology is built with multi-version concurrency capabilities for providing most efficient scalability. Requests from every user get equal priority and get solved in parallel with others, rather than sequentially. There is no queuing of access or modification requests and so every user will feel as if he were working with his own local copy or snapshot of data. Tally.Server 9 will ensure that the data access/modification by a user is isolated to his/her own snapshot, thus allowing other users to operate smoothly.
In other words, with Tally.Server 9, there is essentially no blocking of another user’s tasks, even as new users keep getting added to the system, or because of the types of tasks being performed. It also maintains very high data consistency in intense use environment. Overall it leads to lower cost of ownership, lower maintenance and higher efficiency of operations for any medium to large business needing an enterprise grade system.
High Concurrency
Multiple users will be able to simultaneously load companies, save transactions, export reports, print reports, import data, take backup and perform other data related activities without experiencing any downtime or wait state.
Let us consider some examples - Suppose a user starts to take a report for the last month. Another user wants to update a bill for the same month. Normally one would have to wait for the other. Concurrent access will ensure that both users are able to do their activities at the same time.
Improved Security
The data files are now managed through Tally.Server 9. The physical location or path for the data on the server is not required to be made known or accessible to any user. The clients just require the name of the data server, which will be enough to access and operate Tally.ERP 9. Furthermore, operations for company data management like backup, restore etc. are also controlled with server level permissions. This will ensure that data managed by Tally.Server 9 is only available with necessary authorization.
High Reliability
Availability of the system is important for any business. Any time the system is unavailable; there is a loss of productive time. This can happen due to various reasons - For example – Maintenance operations like backup require that all users stop working so that a proper and consistent backup can be taken. This is often managed by doing such operations late at nights or at odd hours. With Tally.Server 9, backup can be taken anytime without affecting either the speed of access for the user or the consistency of data that is backed up. In other words users can continue entering transactions or operating reports while the backup is happening - There is zero downtime for backup.
Business Process Optimization Since the access is controlled through Tally.Server 9, the authorized users will be able to monitor who is currently logged in, which companies are open, track the activities and even disconnect users if such a requirement arises. Each business process or function requires users to perform certain activities and spend some time to input and/or analyse information. As an example, a user has to take data from bank statement and input it into the bank ledger on the system, for reconciliation of balances. A business may expect that this function will require 60 man hours to be spent a month however, it is taking 120 hours as per Tally.Server 9 reports.
